As I have had aphasia for 10 years. I constantly have to search for the right words. My grandmother had dementia and for the last 3 years had no more words, except "yesch". She had no spoken words or didn't understand words, but I held her hand and talked talked talked to her. My grandfather and I told stories. Hand holding was my favorite thing to do.
